I virus trasmessi da zanzare e zecche sono una minaccia crescente

Le infezioni da flavivirus rappresentano una sfida importante per la salute pubblica in tutto il mondo. La maggior parte dei flavivirus ha cicli di trasmissione complessi e può infettare diverse specie, compresi gli esseri umani. Le zanzare e le zecche svolgono un ruolo essenziale nella trasmissione, il che rende più difficile la prevenzione e il controllo. Esempi noti di malattie sono la febbre del Nilo occidentale, l’encefalite giapponese, la febbre Zika e la febbre gialla.

Transmission du virus de Wesselsbron de la brebis à l’agneau : un flavivirus négligé en point de mire

La présente étude révèle un mode de transmission du virus, encore inconnu jusqu’ici de la brebis allaitante à ses agneaux et met en évidence un risque méconnu pour la santé publique et animale lié à la consommation de produits à base de lait cru. Elle montre également pour la première fois que les souches de ce virus présentent des tropismes hépatiques ou cérébraux différents.
