Our vision : Innovative, visionary and interdisciplinary for the protection from animal diseases and zoonoses
Epizootics, infectious diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans (zoonoses) and emerging diseases pose a major challenge to society. At the Institute of Virology and Immunology (IVI), in cooperation with the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Bern, we work on innovative solutions to combat viral animal diseases and zoonoses.
We act with foresight – based on advanced diagnostics, research and teaching in virology and immunology.
We work interdisciplinary in the sense of «One Health». In this way, we make a sustainable contribution to human and animal health.
