Opening of Dynamic Imaging Center at sitem-insel in Bern - Moving X-ray images of the musculoskeletal system
Dübendorf, St. Gallen und Thun, 13.11.2023 - On Friday, the Dynamic Imaging Center was opened at sitem-insel, the Swiss Institute for Translational Medicine and Entrepreneurship. Here, for the first time, X-ray images of a moving person can be taken simultaneously from two different directions. This enables clinical research that is unique in Europe and represents a milestone in the investigation of musculoskeletal disorders. The newly founded center is the result of close collaboration be-tween Inselspital and Empa. Inselspital provides the necessary medical knowledge, while Empa contributes its expertise in biomechanical modeling and image processing. The infra-structure was financed jointly, as were the operations.
